    Phase 2
Onward ho with a crazy semester...

I have returned from the great state of Kentucky and am now facing a terrifying load of imaginary paper (imaginary since I have yet to generate it... err...)  Anyway, alternative spring break was awesome (of course) and adventure-laden.  There are many stories for a later date.  But let's just say it involved sulfur, sand, and a truck load of missles.  We may also have been struck by lightning, but we're less clear on that one.

Bah, class again.  And I have to write a short story in three days. Any ideas anyone?  ;^)

    "A caster of mind-bending illusions!!!"

Well, even in those darker moments of college existence, the sheer absurdity of ICP breaks through ;^) <3 The Great Milenko... not sure WHY this song makes me so happy, but there you have it.

In other news, Ender's Game = quite good.  I'm about 90 pages in, and I'm very much hooked.

    Okay, back to Species Interactions.

    Boo.
Why can't I write papers faster?  Or at least not REALLY care what I was saying in them?  I could totally blather and BS my way through this, and I essentially am, but it's already 1:34 in the morning and I really realllllyy should have been sleeping tonight, as this is only a 2 page paper and seeing as I was very nearly sick this past weekend from lack of rest and have plenty more work to attend to for thursday (gragh, fiction writing)... and then another paper and an exam next week.  Can I, before this, my final semester is over, complete a paper within a reasonable amount of time?  Just, you know, once maybe?  Or I am doomed to repeat the procrastinate-pretzels-panic-repeat cycle til I am kicked out of school with ("God willing and Jesus tarries") a diploma?

    Dear Semester,
    You are "On Notice"
    Despite your good bits -
like Afro Jazz Funk, with our great, zany professor and quintessential bongo-drum player -
you are causing a lot more trouble than is really necessary.
    Do let up, won't you?
    Love,
    Julie

Ah well, baptism by fire, I suppose.

Well, we shall make it, but lordy lordy what tales we shall tell in the end.
But dude, I am going to Kentucky for Spring Break to volunteer, which will be awesome (and exhausting), and I am going back to CT one of these weekends to catch a breather.
    Until then, onward ho!

    Strap yourself in, kids >:^)

Whaaat a night.  I haven't the time for details now, perhaps later, but suffice it to say, that I am going to Cranks, KY in the Appalachain Mountains for spring break and it is going to be a mad, mad time. My life is that much better for the events, or more really the atmosphere of last night.  Sleep? For the weak.  Pssh. More on this once I am rested and/or caffeinated.  Oh, Alternative Spring Break, you crazy buggers....

    Aah, Christmas...
Crazy crazy family.  Julie is le tired. I had a nice run today, though, which is good... but it was rather jarring to come home this holiday.  I have so much I want to reeead... but I can't seem to settle.  Maybe over the next couple days now that Christmas is over, though.
    We shall see :^)

Until then, random iTunes downloading shall get me through! And West Wing!  Hurrah!!

Grah, quarter life crisis... kicked it into a new gear this semester.  Good, but hectic?  Turbulent.  Mm.  Okay, enough random rambling.  LOVE to all - hope you had a fantastic holiday and Happy Early New Year!

    IT'S SNOOOOWING!!!

    Hurrah!  Hurrah!  Hurrah!!!

Now the Christmas music truly sounds official :^)

There was some lovely frolicking and some very cool dry snow effects to be seen along the mass pike... cars + thin layer of dusty white powder = v. cool, screen-saver worthy patterns along the asphalt.  Anyway, I heart snow most sincerely.

So, despite it all, there is still snow :^)  This, I feel, is good news.

Okay, time to finish up lab report and get me some sleeep, before the REAL studying etc commences tomorrow.  Wish me luck, mates, I shall be in dire need of it!

    Love to all!

    Aaaagh

    Paper nights....

I just wanna be done and go to sleep, I am so very comfy and warm sitting here and it would be soooo nice to just pass out and sleep for a loooong long time.  Sadly, I must decode a poem over 5-7 pages first.  I have about a page, I guess, but I seem to have given up.  I am panicked and disillusioned, yes, but mostly just tired and ready to move on with life and be happy about Christmas and small things and friends, who are awesome (I love you guys, seriously, you make life.)   I want to write books and poems and establish contacts with creative, thinking people... and not be bitter about who is smarter or performs better... I want to try to evade some of these hierarchies we've established, both institutionally (thanks, college) and in our heads and mannerisms... and you know when a live journal post turns into a manifesto, that it really is time to get back to work so that SLEEP can figure prominently in the future.

    Rargh.

We saw the Boston Commons tree lighting tonight.  It was rather anticlimactic, but it was a bit of an adventure, which is always good :^) I like walking around the city at night, it's quite pleasent.

Alright, everyone, send hugs and know that I reciprocate heartily.  Much love and luck in these last few weeks before CHRISTMAS!!! Woooo!!!

Happy Belated Thanksgiving, everyone - and HUZZAH for the commencement of the holiday season with all its glorious music and twinkle lights :^) ::Hopping up and down::

    "How great their joy!"
    "Joy, joy, joy!"

(You should hear that one - these people don't really sound all THAT joyous, and this rather amuses me... ;^)

    Stolen from Lizza

"For the first three people who comment - and re-post - this challenge, I will send you something. It might be something I've made, or something cool from my hidden stash, it might be a mix CD - or a rubber duck, a book I think you will enjoy, or something else that is awesome. Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 30 days or less.

The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first three to reply to this, AND post this very same thing on YOUR live journal* - 'cause its fun to give people stuff."

I'm not promising anything "valuable" but you can rest assured... it will be interesting.  If you want to recieve it, however, I may need an address... depending on who you are Lol

    Aaaawe

::Laughs:: So I sent my Grandma a picture of me all dressed up from the infamous Top of the Hub outing, because I figured she would get a kick out of it.  Today I get an early Halloween card from her with this message:

"Thank you so much for your picture.  It is great.
But in Grandma's eyes you don't need a makeover - you have naked beauty.
    Chuckle, chuckle,
    Love,
    Grandma Babcock."

    Oooh, Grandma :^)
